Trauma based events have wide ranging, interrelated effects on family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, communities, businesses, and sometimes countries or the entire world. Touched by Terrorism is a series of presentations reflecting my experience with domestic terrorism and an accounting of an event that changed my life and forced me to cope with a broad range of issues that I had never previously considered. These speeches include case studies and statistics as well as my personal perspective on working with law enforcement, the media, the judicial system, and other topics that are a bi-products of terrorism, trauma, or violence. My aim is to provide a view of the complex and layered dimensions of trauma, suggest solutions, and prompt listeners to ask themselves ‘what if’.
